My husband and I are trying to have a baby. On yesterday I took a hpt. When I read the test it said negative. I always leave the test on the counter to show my husband that i have taken the test. When he seen the test he was screaming. The test read positive. Should I buy another test?

CAUTION!!!- Read those home tests at the correct time and the correct time only. As a med tech, I can tell you there are bunches of scientific reasons why the timing is so important. Instead, I will use an analogy... You want a nice soft boiled egg, so you time it. Two minutes, ummmm good. But then, you decide to just leave it in the pot and eat it later. You crack it open, hey- it's hard boiled! What happened??? Same thing that happened to your home pregnancy test.

Wait a week and retest using a fresh kit. And good luck.

after a certain number of minutes usually 10 or so a negative will turn positive, that was they say read the test in 2 minutes.

Sometime a test will say negative before turning positive. Best to take another to be sure.

Instead of buying another one you should get a blood test done they are alot more accurate, and then you will know for sure.

Good Luck!!

ONCE YOU GET A POSITIVE TEST YOU SHOULD BE FINE, BUT IT IS FUN TO TAKE MORE JUST TO MAKE YOURSELF BELIEVE IT. CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR OB AND THEY WILL TELL YOU FOR SURE AND GIVE YOU YOUR DUE DATE....MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR LAST PERIOD STARTED!!! MAKE SURE YOU DRINK LOTS OF WATER AND TAKE YOUR VITAMINS. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!!!!
