I came across this wonderful video sermon given by a catholic priest who has the heart to tell the truth on the subject of demystifying paganism.
Before you hate please watch.

Being pagan, I know about paganism, I was not asking a catholic priest on his ideas just thought it was very interesting that he was not bashing and hating as most ignorant people do. I do not classify ignorance as a religion anyone from any religion can be ignorant.

Sorry, I don't watch sermons. But I can tell you that the Catholics and the farmers are the most accepting of our kind. It's because they know!

"Pagan" has continuously been a observe that defined a large style of religions. those who insist that that is one diverse and historic faith have failed their information of non secular history on the most elementary of ranges. Celtic faith isn't Hinduism which isn't Roman faith which isn't Aztec faith. It doesn't take a level to carry close that. Wicca is one among many pagan religions. I actually have not in any respect, ever encountered a good rather good Wiccan or pagan who idea otherwise. I rather doubt this individual has carried out any accountable study. He/she would have examine a pair web pages and watched some YouTubes of pagans ranting about being the most historic faith and being consistently persecuted by technique of meany Christians, and then blusters at human beings (like you) who attempt to shatter their heavily built little international. heavily: Aztecs vs Romans. both pagan. no longer everywhere on the point of the same. that could end the talk. heavily, 7 years a Wiccan and all you may say is "the in effortless words vast difference between Wiccan And Pagan is Wicca is more beneficial of a open faith." I even do no longer recognize what the sentence even skill. Does she imagine there's a club requirement for pagans? also, Wiccans infrequently describe their faith as New Age.

I've seen this sermon before. Nice to see someone on the "outside" explaining from the "inside".

And I think people have trouble with it because it encompasses such a hugely wide range of beliefs. I don't consider myself a pagan, but it's not a label I mind, and it often works better than sitting down with someone and saying "Well, see, pagans are into nature quite often, and I'm not so much, but I do share this belief with them" and so on and so on. It's become a blanket for a lot of "fringe" beliefs, and that's fine...just makes it very hard to figure out if you're not in it.

I don't have to watch a sermon to understand being a Pagan as I am Wiccan.

To answer why some people cannot understand paganism is easy, they choose not to. You cannot understand something if you are not interested in it.

I'm sorry to say, I couldn't watch the sermon. That priest is a terribly boring speaker and couldn't hold my attention.

It was nice to hear a priest say he has many pagan friends though. As I am Wiccan, I don't hear that too often outside of my own circle of friends.

I think a Catholic is the last person I'd want telling me what Paganism is. Why not ask, oh I don't know, a Pagan?

I watched--- THIS IS NOT A CATHOLIC PRIEST. He spent most of his time being angry at those who "judge" Pagans and NEVER really taught exactly WHAT they practice. I went to his website and he is open to ALL RELIGIONS. There is no mention of what his denomination is.
There was no DE mystifying that occurred.
