I know this is going to sound very harsh but seriously this is an 11 kid we're talking about!!!! Tell him like it is as simple as that! He has no right to "want" to be an only child and will just have to deal with it. I really do know this sounds harsh but its the only way to go cos either way (if u tell him gently OR hard) hes not going to like it by the sounds of things. U should be able to enjoy this pregnancy and not be worrying about an 11yr old feeling jealous!

Eventually he's going to have to accept this. He already isn't an only child he has a sister or step-sister depending on how your family views this. My husband has a daughter as do I, they both live with us, when they were 4, I was pregnant, due to their age and the fact that they were to young to understand the time it takes before the baby got there we didn't "tell" them until I was 4 months. They kinda found out on their own. We were all watching tv and the girls would comment that I was getting "fat", (they were 4, so it was ok), and they decided they wanted to put stickers on my fat belly.......lol. About the time they were sticking their stickers on my belly my son started moving and boy oh boy were they excited! Needless to say every time I had to go to the dr they asked if it was time for the baby to come out. (this didn't answer your question, I just wanted to share it) As far as your question goes include him in as much as you can. Make it a point to ask his opinion on things.

Just tell him. He will eventuallu get over it. Years down the road it will be something you all laugh at. Don't worry about it anymore its only causing stress to you and your baby. Hes a big boy.

welll...... your just going to have to tell him even if he dont like it he has to grow up and know that his dad has a life to and he cant get every thing he wants. his dad has a life and if he want to be with you thats what he wants. yes thats his son and he will always be there for him but now he has to take care of another. his son will be his son and he will still love him.
