Drive, get on a bus or plane to a nearby Southern coast. Then if your strapped for cash you could go to a State Park that is water front or nearby the water. This is ususally the least expensive place unless you know someone that has private land along the water. Take a fishing pole if he likes to fish. Tents are from $ 20 Dollars on up and can be as comfortable as you want. In the parks they have Bath houses and such. I checked Florida awhile back and if you can reserve a site and it seemed to cost like $ 20-30 a night.

Or if you have the Bucks Spring for the Bahamas or Mexico there are cheap 3-4 nights including air and food and drink...

Depends on where you are. Rocky Point, Mexico (just a few hours drive from Tucson) is very inexpensive. Warm, fresh seafood, and you can either camp right on the beach or rent a hotel room. If you are able to go to Hawaii I say go to Kehei Akahii, on Maui. Lots of beach with very few tourists. Myrtle Beach in SC is very pleasant also.

My only advice would be to find an all inclusive resort where EVERYTHING is included. At some all inclusives, you still have to pay for certain things, like drinks. If you find one where even the drinks are included, you can save some money. It's little things like that that will save you some dough. To me, all beach resorts end up looking the same though.
