Yes, it's definitely rude to change the channel without their permission. If I was watching a show, like Empire for example, in my bedroom and someone else walked in, sat down, and changed the channel without saying a word, of course I'd be mad and be like, "Hey can you please change back to the channel I'm watching?" and "Next time you come into my bedroom please ask me if you can change the channel or just wait until the show's over ok?" and continue to watch my show until it's over, and then the person can change it when it's their turn to watch TV. I have yet to see it happen.

It happened to me. Someone came to my house and stopped a
movie that I was watching and started another movie. I was so
mad! I asked him what gave him the right to walk into my home
and without saying a single word, do anything that he had no business doing. The bad thing is he was my husbands uncle. I
know that we should respect our elders and I normally do, but
the man is,nt that much older and the family has had similar
problems in the past with him. I told him to leave and not to come
back if he could'nt show some respect. He showed a lot of respect after that!

Sounds like somebody thinks they are the center of the world. Read a book instead that way only you can change the channel.

I really hate it when it's done to me and I get very angry and tell the person what the heck are they thinking by coming in, sitting down and not changing the channel without asking.

That is very rude. I'd tell them that I was watching TV first and for them to wait their turn. I'd grab the remote and change back to the channel I was currently watching.

I think that is very rude and would of said something to the person who changed the station. I don't understand the way people think today.

angry, that is so rude! i would change it back, and tell them off, unless it was their house and their tv, if it was,,,,, i would get up, walk away, while mumbling loud enough for them to hear , things like "wow i really was enjoying that show" or " wow that is rude",,,, then i would get my own tv if possible, if not, and they walk in room again while your watching, just sign heavily and get up and walk out, before they have a chance ot change it,,, they will get the message, it its a sibling, talk to your parents,,

Shoot, my Dad would walk through the living room from the bed room, on his way downstairs and change the chanel! Just cause he didn't like what he was hearing on it! Yeah, it's rude, but it was his house!

Yes, this is rude in most instances.
If you're 23 years old, not working and still living with your parents and your Dad does it to you though, I don't think you have any room to complain.

My husband does it all the time. It pisses me off. He watches boring old history channel all day. He wonders why I go into the bedroom and sit at the computer instead of sitting with him. zzzzzz.....
