All I read is how people go on about Christains thinking their superior to others and how we look down on other people who don't believe in God.
Where does all this nonsense come from?

I'm always looked down on by Christians I know for not believing in what the believe in. I've been called "The Darkness" by some (which is kind of funny to me). I don't do anything wrong. I live morally and consider myself a nice person and would do anything for anyone. I don't have the answers by any means, but to me Christians think that they know it all. Not all are like that, though. The majority that I have encountered to me seem to think so. The funny thing to me about it is that you question them and they can't give you an answer. I'll be mocked, but the only answer I can get when I ask a Christian why they believe in what they believe in is..."Because it's your faith". That doesn't mean anything to me as a non-Christian. You ask them to elaborate and they just say it again. They can't define what it means. It just seems they are programmed to say that. They ask me why I don't believe and they are stunned by how much I know about their religion that they don't. It's funny to me. I say believe in what you want to believe in. Just don't harass me, and if you are going to think you are high and mighty about it know what the hell you are believing in and/or talking about.

It is the other way around. Christian discriminate against others. Have you not read or heard on the news how Christians get all upset over stores saying happy holidays instead of merry Christmas? Big preachers publicly make fun of other religions.

When I was still a Christian I did my best to follow scripture but Baptists, Methodists and Pentecostals when they heard I went to the church of Christ they would say things like" that is bad, that is a cult you know. You are going to hell. " I am not the only one who is treated lik that by so called /Christians.

Now that I am pagan Christians see my pentacle and say I worship the devil when i do not even believe in the devil. Christians can wear crosses in public schools while the pentacle and other religious symbols are banned.

It is because that's how today's culture is getting. People judge others by the actions of one or a few. Plus you got those who don't believe that think they are so much smarter than we are and then get on our case. I guarantee you won't hear them caring about that though. Sad but true. And to the one who said that our government was secular, yes our means of government was secular but everything that this nation was founded on was on a belief in God. It's all over the Constitution, the laws that govern us, and many other areas of the government. Always has been. The only problem with it now is that everyone gets offended by things so easily and are all about money that they go and sue someone because their own nation is founded on different beliefs. It hasn't been a problem in the 200 some odd years this nation has been around and it really needs to stop before everything this nation was founded on goes to waste. I guarantee you our founders would be rolling over in their graves if they knew half of the things that were going on.

It does happen, sadly. And from my experiences, it's often bred in a church or close circle of Christians. I was raised as a Christian and went to one of those churches with a very "us vs. them" mentality, and an air of pitying superiority towards the "unsaved"--and for that matter, other Christian denominations who didn't believe the same way our church did. This line of thought was encouraged far less subtly in my home after my mother dove into fundamentalism.

I know and you know not all Christians are like that, and I'm glad they're not--and I'm glad we have the ones who aren't. Unfortunately, though, they're out there.

Take a little browse through the religion and spirituality section and you should find plenty of reasons as to why people think that on here. There is plenty of "non-christian" bashing on here and people whom of which are behaving like they are superior.

That may be why people on here make remarks like that. Sometimes it seems like there are people on here that just enjoy leaving remarks to get others fired up. It all seems childish. I would respect someone much more for asking a question in order to learn more about someone elses beliefs. I just dont think its very christ like to automatically place judgment upon someone else and condem them. According to the bible that is God's job right?

A lot of people on here are highly sensitive anyways...And unfortunately there are people on here that are looking to hit those that are sensitive in order to get a reaction. Its called people with too much time that need to get jobs.

Peace and merry christmas.

Do you ever venture into the outside world? Christianity, as a religion that declares itself to be the only true religion, creates a following of "god's chosen people", who all, by default, believe their religion, and thus themselves, are superior to all others.

I personally have been shown discrimination from Christians. They look down their noses and judge people, condemn them to hell, withoout even listenign to their point of view, and tell them they re doomed to hell unless they become a christain. I personally have met very few real Christians, who take the love tht Christ spoke of, and live that. They are out there, but very few and far between.

A lot of non Christians are criticized and harrassed because of their beliefs.

Some (not all!) Christians seem to think theirs is the only belief around, and that they can criticize and harrass (aka preach) non Christians and get away with it.

To those who do not persecute others beliefs, thank you!

Happy Holidays!

Personal experience.

Surely you read many questions posted here by Christians? The arrogance seems to drip from many questions...like "Why don't Jews accept Jesus? They know it's the Truth?" Or: "Why are all Muslims rebelling against the True Faith?" Or: "It takes more faith to not believe in God than to believe in Him."

And I've only scratched the surface.
