and try your best not to give me the whole "well just look around you" argument.

Heres my proof there is NO god:
Tell me god has a reason for child molesters and I will slap you accross the face.
Tell me god had a reason for the tsunami that destroyed a whole country and killed hundreds of thousands of people.

If he/she/nothing is everywhere at once, why why he let that happen? to help someone else? A little boy gets raped and killed and that helps who now? the grieving family? or was god helping the serial rapist get his jollies off?

God is concerned with our soul's ultimate survival, not our earthly body. What happens to us in our measly 70 or so years of life is meaningless compared to the enternity we spend in or out of His glory.

You can choose to point your finger, like a child, at attrocities and conclude that there is no God. Or you can maintain an advanced faith, as an adult, and deduct that there is. These decisions and conclusions are far more important to the ultimate survival of your soul than the cowardly trappings of godlessness.

If you are so concerned with molesters and tsunamis, what are you doing to help? Are you fighting against the sickos and for advanced wave warning systems? Or just using these as excuses while you shake your tiny fists skyward?

Any further explanations of free will or other theological discussion will obviously be lost on you. Suffice it to say, you can make whatever determination you want. But the punch line to this story is that you are still welcome to change your mind at any time and be welcomed by the open arms of a forgiving God.

Just don't bait people with questions like this and then feign shock when they answer with their own stong opinions.

God exists because YOU exist. End of argument.
You cannot prove that something does not exist, only that it does. So, once again, end of argument.
The "proof" you list is actually no proof at all. They are not reasons that God could not possibly exist. They are your laundry list of complaints against a God that you do not understand and against a world that you rage against because it creates intolerable pain.
The fact that you don't like the way a system operates does not mean that the system itself does not exist. Right?
I mean, I don't like the way the government operates and I don't think it's fair, but I don't sit here and try to say, "Here's my proof that there is no government."
You are entitled to your opinion. As I am entitled to mine.
But in order to conduct a rational debate, you have to do it within the realm of debate logic.
There are many intelligent, rational, thinking agnostics and athiests. They could go back and forth all day long in a debate with staunch, learned Christians and other believers in God. In many cases, the debate would never denegrate into some low-level name-calling, just a firm "we'll have to agree to disagree."
But if you want to say there is no God just because you don't like the many tragic things that happen in the world, you won't get very many people to listen to your point of view. Believers in God understand that He does not manipulate all the going on in the universe like a giant chess game, nor does He control the actions of humans. We have free will -- for better or worse.
I like to think that what's happening here and now is very much like those pictures that you have put your nose right on them and pull away slowly to see what the whole picture really is, except that, being human and living only in this time and place, we can never, ever see the whole picture as God can. It's really futile for us to try to understand the "whys" about these things that happen, because they are such a blip on the screen in the whole scope of all time and space. We will never see enough, know enough or experience enough to know the why behind the world. That's a very hard thing to accept. But once you do, you can actually find some peace of mind.

So, something happens and there is no God.

Sure, God could stop all of this from happening, however these things happen as a way for us to Glorify Him.

By banning together to help people that we do not know, half-way around the world, or in NOLA.

By allowing child molesters he is providing strength to the child who may one day grow up and be an advocate against child molesters and change the rules/laws or even a judge that locks up the molesters by the dozens.

Strength comes in all forms whether it be a greiving family or a molested child.

God is in all things, but more importantly God is in us.

You are assuming God did not give us free will. Child molesters choose to do so. A tsunami is just a freak occurance by nature. Look, God lets people do what they choose and lets nature take its course. The greatest verse in the Bible is the shortest "Jesus wept." This is why there is a judgment, if God just played us all like puppets then there would be no judgment.

I advise you to take a walk and realize everything that surrounds you; good or bad. Don't look at the plain picture but dig deeper. Think about what each object, person, or event stems from.

It can't explain if there is a God but becoming content with not knowing, while appreciating what you have and learning from misfortunes, one can become grounded and help realize this fascinating question may be one we will never answer through first-hand account.

We are all free moral agents, not robots. God created us to make a choice, worship him or the devil. People make those choices everyday and that leads to good things and bad.

The little boythat gets raped......yes he suffered for a short while, but if he is not yet at the age of accountability then he will certainly be in heaven after his death. As for his family, they should be comforted in knowing that he will never suffer again. IF he was past the age of accountability then hopefully he had obeyed the gospel and was a Christian and will then go to meet God in heaven.

God put the earth into motion thousands of years ago, weather, volcanos, earthquakes, etc are all things that have to happen to keep the earth "running". They may also be consequences for choices we make (i.e. pollution, growth, etc).

God gave man the choice to accept and obey Him so that man could live a prosperous life full of peace. But man has, almost from the time man was created, rejected God's warnings and His statues/laws for living life safely and in peace. It is man who kills, it is man who molest children, it is man who causes the destruction of the world and it's all do with his own free will; a portion of the grace given by God. As for the weather, storms have always been a part of this earths make up. There have been worse storms than the tsunami and the Katrina hurricane but man as a whole has survived it all; another portion of God's grace. Simply put, man has free will to operate in peace or operate in hostility and violence. Far more often man CHOOSES to operate in hostility and violence. DO NOT blame the violence of mankind on God Almighty! It is not God's fault if man wants to take the precious freedom that God gave us all to do sinful and reprehensible things with it. If you want to be angry with anyone be angry with all who reject the wise counsel, law, and Love of God for their own selfish and hostile gain. Oh by the way, global warming has a lot to do with the rise in strength of the storms this earth currently experiences. Why do we have global warming? Because MAN has CHOSEN to pollute the atmosphere with caustic gases and waste for his own selfish gain (industry, gas, electricity, rubber, garbage etc).

Now for your demand that someone proves that God really exists. There is no tangible proof other than YOU got up this morning, in your right mind, breathing air on your own, logged onto your computer, and posted this question; evidence of God's grace and your free will to reject Him. However, there will come a time when you will stand before the One whom you've rejeted and what will be your saving grace then?

Just take one good look at Jessica Simpson and tell me there's no such thing as God! Meowch!

Your 'proofs' disregard the facts that ALL men have free will, and that we live in a fallen world. God's Purposes are not your purposes.

Science STILL doesn't know what actually triggered the Big Bang. God is as good a hypothesis as any at this point.

Well which one is it? Do you want us to prove God exists? Or do you want to know why bad things happen? Because they are separate issues and you convolute both.

Why do people insist that if there is a God that everything should be perfect? How does that idea get into people's heads?

Those are only reasons for not believing in a benevolent god. What if there's a god who just likes messing with us? I don't believe there is, but you shouldn't go waving the word 'proof' around unless you can back it up.
