get the plasterer back to clean up the mess, he should have sheeted up before he started.

I would get the plasterer to sort this one out - they are supposed to leave your house in a condition they found it in, he should organise a cleaner or pay for a cleaner to come and sort it out for you otherwise he should pay for a new carpet. The sooner you do it the better - you employed him to plaster your ceiling not your carpet.

You call that plasterer back and tell him to come clean it up... or send a carpet expert! That's poor workmanship! Hopefully you haven't paid him..... or you're screwed.

you've just had a visit from a cowboy and incidentally that stain will always be there if you dont make a good job cleaning it with 1001 i would suggest

Let it dry, then use a stiff brush. Vac up the dust & it should be ok
