My fiance has used pot for many years on a daily basis, alternating with regular cigarettes. He hasn't had any for about three or four months at all and has only been smoking cigarettes. He seemed fine when off of the pot, but he recently got some a few days ago and has been smoking it a LOT since. He seems fine, although his eyes are really red and he doesn't seem to be sleeping much. Has anyone been in the situation? If so, can you tell me what it feels like? He hasn't been going to bed until 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning, seems to be eating a little more and sex seems of low priority, when he usually has a healthy sex drive.

I really need to know what to think. I miss him terribly physically, but is pot that important to him right now? I need to know before I talk to him about it tonight. Thanks! I need to say too that I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with the pot. If it makes him happy, I'm fine with it - I just miss our normal intimacy.

I'm not compeletely sure that pot affects sex drive. If it was my boyfriend though I would wonder what else may be going on. Maybe it has nothing to do with the pot he's smoking, maybe he's depressed about something. The only thing I would suggest is to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with him, tell him exactly how you feel, I find that to be a problem in a lot of relationships today, everyone is scared to talk about their feelings. Just be honest with him and I'm sure he'll be honest with you. Good luck.

Cigarettes do effect sex drive. It effects the physical activity of the human body. Pot is illegal. Besides drugs are a temporary escape of REALITY. If I did smoke pot and my girlfriend asked me not to smoke I would fulfill the request. Relationships are about sacrifices and compromises but sacrificing your well being and your criminal record for somebody is some thing to ponder.....The is a lot of guys that don't smoke....You do have the option to trade UP!!!!! At the beginning you make not a person that doesn't smoke isn't as cool or have as many friends but people that smoke pot usually don't have many friends that don't smoke.....There is a difference between being cool or TRYING to be cool... Being cool IS being yourself.......Not saying things to be cool or doing things to be cool.....

Pot affects people in different ways. Some get tired, quite, lazy, relaxed, talkative, laugh a lot stay up, want to go out and do something, stay at home, have a sex drive or no interest because like I said they are enjoying the high and are in their own relaxed world that they are enjoying and really dont need anything alse at the time.

It's ok if it makes him happy? Have you no idea the effects of smoking marijuana? You're concerned about his behavior...do you think that is healthy? I would assume you don't since you feel it's ok for him to do so.

Some immediate physical effects of marijuana include a faster heartbeat and pulse rate, bloodshot eyes, and a dry mouth and throat. Studies of marijuana's mental effects show that the drug can impair or reduce short-term memory, alter sense of time, and reduce ability to do things which require concentration, swift reactions, and coordination, such as driving a car or operating machinery.

Long-term regular users of marijuana may become psychologically dependent. They may have a hard time limiting their use, they may need more of the drug to get the same effect, and they may develop problems with their jobs and personal relationships. The drug can become the most important aspect of their lives.

These are just a few examples of how ad this drug is. There are more and I suggest you educate yourself on it. Perhaps then, will you change your mind about his use of it.

It sounds like he is using more than just pot. Some kind of stimulant, most likely. Pot is pretty harmless and will not cause the symptoms you are describing.
