No sorry. Ignorance breeds ignorance. Typically people who tend to be like that are very blind about the real facts and choose to believe that everything anyone says is a personal attack against their race, they see it as the truth say they are just being real. And then they turn around and say something racist to someone of the same color. It doesn't make sense. I think race is the stupidest thing to argue about.

I assume you mean, racially prejudiced. Can you justify it? No

Is it common and is it hard to fight being prejudiced? sometimes, yes. Prejudices come from many things we are taught, experiences we may have had, etc. Interestingly one major factor in prejudice, is having little or no experience with the group we have prejudice against. We often irrationally fear things and people we know nothing about.

Whatever the reasons, prejudice is ugly, whether it is against blacks, asians, hispanics whites, jews, gay people or anyone.

Many men, for instance fear being around gay men. I once did. They often say that they do not want a gay man to touch them or make a pass. Then when asked if that has ever happened, they most commonly report, no. It very rarely happens, but they their fear it because their experience around gay men is limited. As IU previously stated, I once had this fear until I met a guy who eventually became my best friend, later I found out he was gay. I asked him why he never showed interest toward me and he said," because you are straight, you're just a friend, I respect your lifestyle." He respected the fact that I ahd no interest in that area. People usually respect boundaries and if they get past pre-conceived ideas about others, things work out well.

If you develop a stereotype about black people or mexican people, etc, it is hard to get past the ideas you have because these pre-conceived ideas that exist prevent you from trying to bridge a gap or get close to someone because you see them only in the negative way that was cultivated in you. My military experience helped bring down a lot of misunderstanding about people of color that I was had.

Racial prejudice or hatred is never rational, but losing it is hard.

It requires a great deal of soul-searcing and work.

Hope that helps!
