I don't mean to offend anyone, I'm just honestly curious what exactly that means.

Is it, "I did something once and now for sure I'm going to heaven no matter what"?

or "I entered into the path of salvation, and it's a path I'm still walking on"?

or just "I became Christian"?

or something entirely different. Does everyone define it the same?

Thanks

By saying that "you've been saved", it should mean that you have acknowledged the fact that God is the one and only Savior and is YOUR one and only Savior.

All I know is that God is real, and I believe it with my whole heart, but I also know about all the things that I have, and that I do wrong.
But I don't and can't go through life saying its okay if I sin because God will forgive me.
WE will ALL be judged equally one day, Christian or not.

In the end, only you can truly know what it means to be saved when you actually say it.
I'm still trying to find my way, believing isn't always enough.
It's about how you live your life.

Being saved is confessing your sins in prayer, and accepting Christ who died for you by the shedding of His blood.

Your first comment about 'going to heaven no matter what' is not viable and those who think it are wrong. No matter how hard we try to be good Christians most of us fall short and always pray for guidance to continue being a good Christian.

Your next two comments are pretty much correct, once you pray the sinners prayer, you have found salvation and should continue to walk as a Christian.

Being a true and faithful Christian is not easy, but no one can say "I'm going to Heaven for sure" No one will know until that time comes.

Honestly it's sad to say, but many different religions look at the definiton of being saved differently. I myself am Non-Denominational, (christian). I have came to actually study different religions because I was curious. And found some of them to be very disturbing. Like Jehovas wittnesses. They believe that no matter what you do, being saved or not, only 144,000 people make it into heaven. Thats bull. There is really no such thing as being saved to them. Here is a scripture some would use to prove that being “saved” is a final transaction and every believer who confesses Christ is saved to heaven and cannot be “unsaved.” This is supposed to be powerful Gospel preaching which delivers everyone who confesses Christ to the portals of heaven. Being saved is asking Jesus into your heart, letting him know that he died on the cross for your sins and for everyones sins. Pray to him and let him know your sins and how sorry you are. Remember there is no sin worse than the next. Meaning that to steal a piece of bubble gum from the corner store is just as bad as killing someone. No sin is greater than the other. They are sins. Go to a church of your choice, ask to talk, let him or her know how you are feeling and ask questions. Im sure they will be more than willing to help.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18.

The Bible teaches that everyone Sins, this doing things that God says are wrong. The penalty of Sin is Death. We stand Judged and the penalty is Death. Jesus Christ died to cover this penalty of death. So, when a person accepts what Jesus did, they are technically "Saved" from death.
It like going to court for murder. And the judge say; "if you found guilty you will face the death penalty". Then the Jury say; "We find you guilty, but, due to the testimony of this witness we do not feel the Death Penalty should be given and we give you life in prison".
So, what happened is YOUR witness "JESUS" by His testimony before the judge "God", has just saved you from the Death Penalty. But, in God's eye, He totally forgets and forgives the sin!!!This the easiest way I know to explain and give an example.

It means they repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. It's not a once-only thing though, it involves a journey through this life and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Of the definitions you mentioned, I would say that 2 and 3 are accurate.

No, probably everyone does not define it the same.
Good question.

Actually, all three. It just means you have asked Jesus into your heart, and he has saved your soul. You are going to heaven someday, you did enter the path of salvation, and you accepted him so you're going no matter what and now a christian!

When I say it I mean that God has saved me from His just wrath against me for my sinfulness. Instead of suffering in Hell for all eternity like I deserve, He has paid the price and has given me eternal life with Him. It has nothing to do with what I have done, but what He has done for me.

I think people have different definitions. For me, I was a sinner, doomed to death and punishment, but I did something (accepted Christ) wich saved me from it, and now I am a Christian, walking and learning and growing in my faith, so I may be and feel truly saved.

What they should mean is that they have faith that their sins have been forgiven, given that they have asked for forgiveness. In reality, they have lost touch oftentimes and become pompous and disregard their morality by assuming that they are innocent, because they believe in a forgiving God.

This means that a person has trusted in Jesus Christ to take them to Heaven when they die.
