You were right not to go. You would have had an awful time because of the pain caused by the whiplash. Never go after an accident like you have; if you did go you only would have worsened your condition. I must emphasize again, and I don't care how much fun they had, just rest after a whiplash & DO NOT GO ANYWHERE. You did the right thing.

You'll have many "great nights" in your life. It's not a big deal that you didn't go. Probably would have been OK to go to. Also, don't let people get to you too much.
There's a worry model I heard once.: 10-10-10
Decide if what you're worring about will effect life for 10 mins, 10 months, or 10 years. Then decide if it's worth worrying about.

the amount of times i've been faced with that question. And recently too! I'm supposed to be going to a "friends" party next week and I don't know if it would be appropriate or not.
I guess you should have gone, if only for your mates. I'm sure they would have enjoyed your company, screw the other A holes who want to make sly remarks.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Although it sounds like you missed a good party, you did the right thing by deciding not to attend. Perhaps you can get together with your friends outside of work? You'd have a good time!

I agree that you not going was the right decision. People may think if you are able to go to a party, then you are able to work, without really thinking that the work day is longer than the party. Sorry your holidays were spoiled.

Yes, if you are strong enough to go to the 'do', then they would've gathered you are strong enough to get back to work. And whats the use of being around people having fun, when you will be stuck on your seat the whole night.

Yes. I think it would send the wrong message to your bosses and co-workers that you are off work injured but you are fit to party. Could have found yourself answering some difficult quetsions.
