I tend to only have the spices on hand that I use all the time. However, after my grandma died and we cleaned out her kitchen we found an extremely old can of beans. It was bulging out everywhere. My dad estimated the can was from the 70's. She died in 2001. We wrapped it in a couple of plastics bags and threw it out. She didn't see well and it was way in the back of her lazy susan. Kinda crazy huh?

I've been pretty good about keeping everything fresh, but the other day I noticed that I have 2 open containers of ground thyme. The problem is they are both new.
