goose in question is slightly larger than a Canadian, but has yellow bill with large forehead bump!

They can mate with the same species. Only if a swan and a Canadian goose were confined in a cage with each other, with no hope of finding a mate, will they MIGHT breed each other, and if one was a male and the other one was a female.
I had a muscovy duck that had a mate, and he would still breed the hen chickens. The loci on the genes would not line up right, and so nothing strange was ever hatched.

Yes, swans can mate, and yes geese can mate. Thats where little swans and little geese come from! But can they mate together? No, they are both waterfowl but not closely related. I hope you dont mind my slightly smart aleck remark. :-)

Geese and swans are different species - they can not mate.
