Me and my daughter are physically seperated from eachother & I have not seen her since spring break in March! I miss her very much & so does she, we don't get to talk very often about once or twice a week on the phone. her Daddy is very well off & can afford anything so she has about all the toys her heart desires...I got her an american girl for her birthday in October, I would really love to get her something special that will show how much i care about her! Any ideas? The best i could think off was a necklace or a charm bracelet so she can start collecting charms... any mom's with 6 yr old lil princesses out there that could give me some advice?

how about a set of rings that fit together like a bridal set, one with your birthstone and one with hers. i have two little girls, so i have to be creative enough not to get the same for both! it's hard to come up with ideas. good luck on this! TINA, i don't think that dee is trying to buy her love, she is just trying to give her something special. something that only they two share.

How about a ring. A 6 year old should have tiny fingers and it shouldn't be all that expensive. Maybe an all gold with the first letter of her first name or something. My friend got her mom a necklace for Mother's Day last year. It had two chains and two charms. They were each a half of a heart and one said mother and the other said daughter. You could do something like that. It would show that you are far away and when you two get to see each other, it will be like being reunited and the hearts could become one. Just throwing off ideas. Good luck.

Your daughter will love the be conscious regardless. I had some advantageous responses from mothers and fathers and students that wrote and won notes.

Charms are a great thing to start to collect, so many for different occasions. You should send her some that mean alot to both of you along with pictures and things that she could start scrapbooking with. That is a very personal and meaningful thing for little girls( and big!) to start and the loving memories are forever.

Have you got time ot make her clothes? Or to knit her a hat/scarf/mittens comination? Or to make a banner to put over her bed that includes the American Doll themes? Or a kit of cooking stuff (like the ingredients in a jar) so that she can cook something that "you" made nad "she" made?

Something YOU have done will be lovely. And it will impress the people with whom she is living too - added bonus.

Be blessed <><

The MP3 player with songs that remind you of her is a great idea. I think a locket with both of your pictures in it would be nice. Buy one for her and an identical one for you. Put your pictures in it and put it on a necklace and tell her she will always be close to your heart! Also, if you have the chance, have a portrait done of you and her together!

I wouldd make something so it is sedimental... or 'buy or adopt' a star' from the space and science center that is just yours so you both can look at it every night and know that only two have that star. or a friendship necklace or braclet where you have half and she has half. And then every year after that or every card you send to her, you can write your symbol, (the star, the pendent on the friendship necklace, etc)

Get a very inexpensive MP3 player (I got my daughter one for $35) and put a bunch of songs on it that you and/her enjoy. She will think of you every time she listens and it may help her when she is missing you.

How about a cassette player. You can record cassettes to send to her, just talking and telling stories, or buy a book and read it into the cassette and then send the cassette and book to her and she can follow along. You'll have to send her blank tapes and have a player yourself, and then she can record tapes and send them back to you (if you think the ex will do that for you). Just a thought.
