what simple snacks can i make for romantic dinner? they should fit red semi sweet wine and they should be easy to make. anything i could make out of ham, cheese, etc?

You can serve toast points with melted cheese. Try wrapping ham around asparagus spears for something easy and elegant.

Stuffed mushrooms.
Get some nice sized mushrooms and remove the stems from the cap (if you cut off the very end that was exposed to the air you can chop the stems to use elsewhere) Lay the caps top side down on a cookie sheet. Lightly drizzle with a touch of extra virgin olive oil.
Mix together some feta cheese, the herbs of your choice, and some seasoned bred crumbs to give it a bit of body. If you have it available, use pesto instead of the herbs. Fill each mushroom cap with the mixture. Top with some more of the seasoned bred crumbs to give it a nice texture on the top.
Bake in a 350 oven for a few minutes until the mushrooms just begin to soften and the top starts to brown. Or, better yet, use the broiler so the mushrooms won't get too soft.

Another *very* simple classic Italian appetizer is your basic bread and seasoned olive oil. Just slice up a baguette. In a small plate put a little bit of fresh minced garlic cover with olive oil and top with fresh ground black pepper. Serve with the bread slices. To eat, dip the bread in the seasoned oil.

I think fresh fruit and melted choc and marshmellows yummy!goes great with wine and very romantic.It is my favorite.
