I drive a 2005 Chevy Silverado...I pulled into a spot at my college. I was close to the left side but I had enough room to open the door and get out. As I was getting out, the door opened fully and bumped the car next to mine. Luckily, I caught the door before it hit hard but it did bump it. So, the woman in the car gets out and comes on over. She says I left this big dent in her car. I open the door to show her where my door hits. Where it hits, there is no damage. Now, she drives a 1980's Jeep. It's full of dents, bumps and scratches. She's saying I dented it but I wasn't arguing with her. We exchanged info and I went to class. I called my insurance company to see what to do. They said to make a claim so I did. But now, a woman from the company keeps calling. I talked to her and she is saying the woman hasn't called yet. Do I still have to go through with the claim?

It's not your choice to go through with the claim. You reported it, they will make whatever attempts they think are reasonable to track this woman down, and they will decide when to close the file if she doesn't respond. It's not your option.

Nope. You have done your part. If the other party decides to persue she can call your company and they will re-open the file.
