Well me and pookie didn't work out - he told me to stop calling him so I did now he tells me I can call him and when I do he's excited -whats all that about ?

A few things could be the case...
A. You could have been obsessed and calling him every hour. Maybe, he wanted you to stop calling so much, and you thought he meant not at all.
B. He had no feelings for you, so he wanted you to stop calling, and when you stopped calling, he wanted you to call again because he grew feelings after that.
C. You called originally, and you said something that bothered, annoyed, or angered him, and now he is over it.
These are just a few things it could be. I would evaluate how close you guys are and then choose one of the three above as a likely answer. In truth, ask him if you really want to know!

Girl that ole saying," You don't miss what ya got till it's gone." And pookie's woman stopped calling and pookie realized he missed hearing his woman's voice. So he don't take that for granted now that it's been taken away from him before.

It's the old adage of you want what you can't have.
When you were readily available, that was boring and no challenge. Now that you aren't, he wants you - it happens a lot. People are odd like that; it's why it always pays to play "hard to get" a bit.
