im 16 and yea ihad alot of bad relationships in the past and that why my parents dont want me to date anymore. right now im talking to someone and i told my parents about him and my moms ok with it but my dad isnt he still dont want me to date again. i like this guy alot and he respects what i want but how do i get it hrought to my dad that i want to date this guy??

Yea im 16 too dads dont like their lil gurls dating period sometimes thy act like ther cool about but it really dose scare them because he still see you as that lil girl and dont want you to get hurt. So your really not gonna get it through his head because he gonna think what he thinks the best thing to do is show him your a big girl and you know what your doing. Show him and let him know that you think that boy is a gentelmen. How do you do this....invite him over for dinner let him meet your dad and let them get to know each other thats all I can tell you and hope for the best........it work for me. Good luck!

16 would be a good age but if you want to wait then that is okay because you have been hurt in the past. So you should wait until it is the right time.

Definitely 16... My parents were the strictest parents their were and even they said I could date at 16.... As to how to get your dad to let you, See if you can invite him over for dinner one night with you and your family... Have him put on his best behavior and than maybe your dad will see that he can trust you....Good luck to you

16 is an age to start dating (or maybe 15 too). Apparently it is not your first date, so why the question?

They should have stopped you before. when my son was 15 he asked me if he could start dating...I said no, amoung other things like my reasons. He started dating at 17 and is now 19 and still dating the same girl...and very happy.

i think that decision should be left up to your parents. there seems to be a valid reason in their minds why they want you to slow down for a while?
