It is mainly my hands and feet. I don't have a rash. I've tried everything. I've used lotion, cortizone, burn spray, rubbing alcohol, anti fungal creme. Nothing seems to help. The only thing that relieves it is ice cold water. I don't know what to do. It is driving me crazy!!!

Sometimes the cure is worse than the problem. These creams and sprays contain mineral oil which can cause it's own allergy. So you think you are doing something to help it and by using it making it worse. You can sensitise your skin and it can take up to 28 days after you quit for them to improve. (This is the time it takes for the layers of damaged skin to replace themselves.)

Alcohol also can remove the natural oils from your skin and in doing so expose nerve endings to react with the air causing a constant itch.

Constantly scratching an area can cause an itch-scratch cycle. You itch you scratch you itch more.

Stay away from perfumed hand lotions and soaps.

If you are a compulsive hand washer or take long hot baths or showers, you will set yourself up for this type of injury especially now that cold weather is here and most homes are dryer than in the summer.

Less is better.... if you have a local spot of severe itching apply a little amount of baby oragel and it will disappear in 30 seconds.

Scalding hot water. My palms and the soles of my feet itch so badly I have literally brought blood (wire brush) and left bruises (sharp corners). Then the soreness lasts a week. The "reliefs" I've read of others with this "condition" seem to indicate any extreme interuption of the itch sensation sent to the brain gives at least some relief. I've tried lotions, ointments, home remedies, Doctors, you name it. Nothing has helped except holding my hands and feet in the hottest water I can stand. My skin turns red and it burns...but it stops itching for a while.

Try to pin point what you're eating when you get itchy. When I had an anaphylactic reaction, my hands and feet started to itch and burn, before the reaction started to progress and get worse. Try taking a Benedryl and see what happens, it may help the itching, especially if the itching feels like it's coming from under your skin.
