some times it is because that person rejected them in some form or fashion or it could be that they are jealous of that person so they try to cut them down to size so to speak and sometimes they talk bad about them on purpose hoping it will get back to the other person, kind of a reverse psychology, i like you but i'm too shy to talk to you any other way kind of deal and on the other hand, some people are just mean

Because they're jealous of them for some reason and they are trying to sway the listeners into not liking then as well. They are insecure and inorder to hide their own issues, they talk about others.

no it doesn't make any sense people who do that have my deepest sympathy because it means that their life is so f**ked up that the only way they could make it through the day is to talk constantly about someone they don't care about
