At 5 days old they are fine to be left alone with their dam without you supervising. I am a breeder and mine are left alone with their mother from the time they are born. She will instinctively feed/protect/clean them etc.

My mother dog just had puppies on the 15th early in the morning at 12:00 am. I think they should be fine without supervision. The mother should take care of them pretty well. The only problem we have had with ours is the mother sitting on them. I check on them every once in a while just so I can help the puppy if she is on top of them. I think they will be okay.

They should be fine to be left with their mother at any time. As long as she is being a good mother, and you haven't noticed any health problems with her or the pups, she'll handle everything on her own!
Still check on her every couple of hours, and make sure mom gets lots of little breaks!

Depends a lot on the breed. I raise Basset Hounds, and I never leave them for at least the first two or three weeks. This is because the mothers have a tendency to accidentally lie on the pups and smother them. It only takes minutes for this to happen.

No the mama dog has 5 puppies, not you :-)
and knows when it will be time for them to be left alone.
Dogs had puppies long before men let them in the house!

As long as she is properly caring for her pups you can leave them for short periods. A good rule of thumb is 1 hour per week old. Obviously you can't watch them 24/7, but make sure you are checking on them often and see them nursing, being cleaned by mommy, etc. Good luck!

They can be left alone from day one with their mother. She knows better than us how to care for her young. i wouldnt leave any animal for extended periods, with or without pups. Unless she is a danger to them (trying to et them or something) there is no problem.

The minute they are born, we used a large box or baby pool lined with newspaper while our pups were little this allowed the mom to enter but the puppies couldnt leave. good luck

You can leave your mother with them as soon as there born.
The mother should be able to leave and come back on her own(go to the bathroom and back)
