Are you really trying to help or just bored? This because I am amazed at the mentality of some of the answers. Also, it seems like people get off on insulting others.

To Questionmarkguy2... It's funny how people assume things. As a wife & mother (among other things) I have plenty to do with my time. I am really curious about other peoples opinions, & only use this as a means to spend my time when I am up at night (@ 3 am) when I can't sleep & my husband is snoring up a storm. Thanks for your insult, though. I suppose that could be the answer to my question. If your self esteem is that low, perhaps you could use some therapy.

I'm sure some people DO (get off an insulting others). For people like that, Answers is just another easy opportunity to do that.
But, I keep coming to Answers because, while there are people here who clearly could use some professional attention in the mental health department, there are far more people here who are very intelligent, thoughtful and full of useful information - and who otherwise just seem like they would be great people to know. I learn something new every time I visit Answers. And, reading the different viewpoints helps me to look at issues in ways I maybe hadn't considered before.
For those who seem to enjoy insulting others, think of how miserable they must be - and just be thankful you're not like that.

HI 1happymom, i am here at the library and it's the only way i can be on the puter, it is sometimes a lot of fun and educational. I get a kick out of some of the questions and sometimes can't help but answer the questions. Sometimes i know what they want to know and other times it's just fun making up an answer just to make someones day by making them laugh.

I tend to pick and choose my answers, I try not to answer something I know nothing about. I don't like the sarcastic answers so I try not to give them. However some questions do just beg for it.
I am bored sometimes but I do alot of studying and have learned a lot since I started answering here!

its a little bit of both. I'm on here because i'm bored sometimes but other times I'm on here to find questions that i can help someone with. I don't go on here to insult other people. I get too many people on here insulting me, so i know what if feels like and don't want others to go though it.

I am really trying to help, and get bored with some of the language that is used, so then I am a little more careful what questions I answer.

I read and answer questions because I like to share opinions with others. It let's me know more about the mentality of different groups of people (Different religion, country, community, political party, different minds)

i love reading good questions and i try my best always to give my best answer hoping it can help the asker.i choose the questions that i feel im capable of giving personal insights.
i also answer dental questions every now and then since i am a practicing dentist hoping it will help the asker.

Your question was really stupid and it appears that you have nothing else to do with your time but ask these questions. To answer your question though, I answer because I have really low self-esteem and the only way to boost it is to gain points.
