Who told you that lie? I had Lasik a few years ago and only had to wear them for a week or so. It's so the flap they cut will heal without you being able to rub your eyes inadvertently while sleeping.

Because the eyes are weak from the incisions made in the surgery.

So you dont rub ur eyes in ur sleep or at night because that might **** up ur eyes from healing.

prob b/c ur eyes are sensitive and u dont want anything to rub up against them or poke them while asleep

i only had to wear them for a week. it is so you don't accidently rub your eyes in your sleep.
