Those things are common, especially among teenagers. Your daughter has to be told that she is too good a person to torture herself over a man that did not have the vision and common sense to appreciate her. Tell her to lift her chin high and look ahead, she has a life to live. There's a saying in Greek that says: "There are other orange trees that also bear oranges," which simply means, that there other men out there that will appreciate her for what she is: a beautiful, good, and descent person.

Yea the most you can honestly do for your daughter is be there. There is not too much you can say that will make the pain go away. But you could try to maybe ask her to do something with you or maybe her girlfriends. Just continue on being there for her but in a way that you are reminding her of all the other things in life.

Poor thing. Maybe you could take her out to dinner and a movie, or go bowling. Do something with her on Sunday nights so she doesn't notice his absence.

Take her shopping! Tell her she's young and to not take these things personally, it's all a learning experience and every girl has been dumped. Seems like youve been doing a good job with her already. good luck

Well, as someone with a mother who always said "he wasn't worth a damn anyway" you are doing what you can - being supportive and offering her advice about how to deal with this. You go ma!
