(I know this is long, but it is not completely cut and pasted; there are various copied verses)
"the eyes of the church" depends on the church (one would think that all churches are based purely on the bible, but they're not- and there are many different versions of the bible)....
For example, this is what Catechism of the Catholic Church says on Pre-Marital Sex and homosexuality
2353. "Fornication is carnal union between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman. It is gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and of human sexuality which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. Moreover, it is a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young."
2396. "Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices."
... however, I've put a bit of what the bible says below since I'm guessing you were looking for a few concrete examples):
[FYI- I'm not saying I believe this, I'm just explaining what the bible says]
A sin is a sin is a sin- god cannot tolerate any sin (according to the bible), so the "gravity" of one's sin does not matter. Homosexality has been reffered to as "shameful " (Romans 1:27) and an "abomination" (Lev. 18:22); but pre-marital sex/fornication is seen as a sin as well (see hebrews 13:4, Mark 7:21-23, etc)
"For whoever keeps the whole law but falls short of one in particular has become guilty in respect to all of it" (James 2:10)
1 Cor 6:12-18 speaks on sinning against one's own body
"So turn from youthful desires and pursue rightousness, faith, love and peace..." (2 Timothy 2:22)
"Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience...." (Colossians 3:5-6)
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9,10)
But as many above have said- according to the bible, the important thing is to have faith in Christ Jesus, confess one's sins, ask for forgiveness, and "take up one's cross daily and follow [him]" (Luke 9:23), "But that you may know that the son of man has authority of earth to forgive sins" (Matthew 9:6)

Pre-marital sex is a sin for a Christian or a Jew according to the Bible. It is not for anyone else. Homosexuality is a sin for a Christian and a Jew, but not necessarily for anyone else. If you don't want to be a Christian-why are you worried about it- go and do your thing. Read Romans 1 starting in about v. 18. God has given up on people like you- so why should Christians worry about you? All we should do is shake the dust from out feet and let you burn in hell. That is your right.

Sin is sin in the eyes of God, regardless of how sin is viewed in the eyes of the church. To God, there is no such thing as greater or lesser sin.
I don't adhere to a specific religion, but I believe that homosexual sex is frowned upon by the church much more than pre-marital sex is.

Well, premarital sex is a sin because both parties are not married.
However, homosexual sex is a sin for the same reason, but ALSO for the reason that they are unable to have children. The same goes for heterosexual anal sex, oral sex, so on...
Fornicating while married is not a sin. Us Christians don't HATE homosexuals (well not most of us), we just feel sorry for them, because we know they are not leading a moral life. We want them to see that what they are doing is wrong, so they can go to heaven.
However, we still do not want them to adopt children, and teach their children to be immoral!

hmmmm... both are sins against purity, pre-marital sex-sex w/o the bonds of marriage between man & woman.... Homosexual sex, is bwetween man/man, woman/woman ... maybe its the degree of sin, but.. what we should be worried about the sin itself, sinning is going away from Gods grace, no matter how big or small, we should be more worried about being separated with God

Neither sin is 'bigger' than the other. Both of the sins involve sexual immorality and are clearly outlawed in the Bible.

The Bible actually says that the thought is the sin...So even if you think about having sex, you might as well do it, because God considers them the same thing....

Homosexual sex is worse. Here is why. There are two laws given by God to mankind. The Natural Law and The Moral Law. Pre-marital sex breaks the moral law while homosexual sex breaks both laws.

neither...clearly in God's Word it shows that all sin is punished the same way..eternity seperat from the Lord...no sin is greater than another...if a little kid steals a cookie at the age of 2 he is still punished the same way as someone like hitlar who killed thousands mabye millions...we are all born with sin..we need Jesus blood to cover our sin so that we arn't seperated from God

For a True Christian it really does not matter does it?
Say that you believe and you will still go to heaven.
The Christian Church and the religion behind it are at odds over these questions and always will be.
What about the pedophile priests?
Yup......... they get to go to heaven also don't they?
