Some people are just plain ignorant. I'm sorry you have to go through that. I myself am bi-racial. My mother is white (caucasian) and my father is black (african american). I had a hard time when I was younger more than now. Now I basically tell people to kiss my a*% !! I have a great grandmother who disowned my mother for being pregnant by a black man. She just started speaking to my mother again maybe about 6 or 7 yrs ago. Me personally i don't have much to say to the lady, if you don't like black people then you don't like me. Sometimes i'll go hand out around my "black family and friends" and there is usually some chick who thinks she can sleep on me because I am "light, damn neat white" but they soon learn their lesson. It's really stupid. Especially since my best friend is white so they resally think they have 2 white girls who are haning around their black men. Little do they know. All I can say is don't let it interfere with your relationship.Ii guess you will always have to go through something. It's unfortunate but this is the world we live in. Just keep your head up eventually people will either leave you the hell alone, or it just won't bother you as much. Us black people need to be worried more about other issues in our lives, like killing each other instead of race. Been there, done that, now let's move on. Good luck with everything.

I don't know why it seems black boys have a problem with you two, I am sure other close minded racist people have problems with you two also and just aren't as verbal about it. You have to just keep being happy with your girl and not worry what the world thinks. You may have to have some fights along the way but try to avoid them if you can. Tell people this is 2006, get over it. Good luck to you two.

It is an American problem. Part of the mythology of Blacks and Native Americans is that they are "nobel savages". It really disregards the humanity and the individuality of a person. "Nobel savage" can be good or bad, the good includes the superiority of the children, the bad includes the licentious sexual activity. The response to questions that hint that "you are overcoming enormous difficulties" is our relationship is like that of other couples who are in love, who respect each other and who want happiness together. Our troubles and our victories are the same as those of anyone. Our problems are not greater that someone who grew up in a high-rise in Manhattan being with someone from rural Oregon, perhaps they are even less. This politely addresses your rejection of being a "model" interracial couple.

I fully endorse interracial relationships. People should date who they like and not judge on race. I'm white but I don't care if I see a white girl going out with a black man, it makes no difference to me.

because they feel like black girls are traitors when they do this but at my school alot of black boys go out with puerto ricans but if a black girl goes out with any other race than there own they like to make little comments but its never anything serious. i like this boy that is black and white but i dont know what their problem is.

please dont worry about a thing. black men can date white women and nobody care and we cant? i dont think so. if she keep you happy then that is all that matters. people need to learn how to deal. and what will happen if you two broke up? are those same people going to patch your heart? ...not! there is nothing wrong with interacial relationships. and of all the african american girls that i know who date caucasians, i never heard any complaints

People always have to have a reason to be mad. Don't worry about them. They don't like you with what they may percieve as an outsider (foreigner). I am in an interracial relationship and nobody ever bothers us, even though lots of black women don't like it, they keep their mouths shut and let us be.

don't worry dude.
the reason i believe is they feel a sense of failure on their part because they let another 'sistah' crossover to the other side. so to save face, they harass her and her suitor, treating them like they have committed some sin calling her a sellout.
if you love her, that is it. who cares what they say as long as they don't put their hands on your or her let them say whatever. they are just mad because you have figured the key to her heart and they could not.
worry no more, marry her and have pretty babies. then when we are all mixed up races no one can say boo.

You really shouldn't worry so much so about what other people might think. You and your girlfriend are happy with each other, and that alone is what matters most. I hope my answer helps you. Good Luck.
