Scientifically speaking, the seeds (achenes) are the fruit, and the fleshy part is the accessory, or a type of modified receptacle.

So from a strictly scientific viewpoint, the flesh isn't a fruit, so the strawberry is not 'a fruit with seeds on the outside' rather it is 'an accessory fruit with small fruit coating it'

complicated, i know.

also, the strawberry is not actually a berry, nor are blackberries or raspberries. In the simplest sense, a berry has it's seeds in the inside, and the fleshy fruit (the ovary) is an edible casing. Therefore apples, tomatoes, blueberries and gooseberries are berries.

Citrus fruits are modified berries called Hesperidium, and the fruit of plants in the cucumber family (cucumber, squash, melons) are called Pepoes (sing. Pepo)

first of all In plant kingdom No seed is borne exterior a fruit and no rule is defied. Now approximately your doubt. Many end result do no longer (and needn't) verify to our 'theory' of fruit. in the occasion you have reported what seems to be a single fruit is rather a determination of multiple small fruitlets. In botany one in each of those series is reported as an mixture fruit with a Latin equivalent 'ETAERIO' The seeds in one in each of those case are even tinier and placed, as predicted, interior each and each tiny fruitlet. to pass deep in the situation calls for botanical terminology it is previous the comprehension of many so I refrain. yet undergo in innovations that a seed is often interior a fruit because of the fact - A seed IS a fertilized ovule it is secure by a Fruit that is a ripened Ovary. are you able to think of a Nucleus exterior a cellular? i think of this could clinch the situation for anyone.

Pistachios! They are not just nuts, fruits too! When I went to Malaysia, I saw the seed at the top of the fruit (pistachio). Seriously, it is true. Well, you may accept it though. :)
