I,m absolutely devastated. he was 11 and had been sick for about 2 months with his liver. I know it was going to happen, but I thought we were going to have to put him to sleep. Instead, yesterday, he made the decision for us. I feel horrible...just wanted to share. thank you.

*hugs* Sorry to hear that. We had to put down my 11 year old cat three months ago, because her kidneys were failing. It really hurts, I know. I still miss seeing her around the house, and I keep finding her cat-toys in random places. Take care.

::::hugs:: I know how you feel sweetie.. but he knew when it was time and I promise you that this way is an easier way.. It is gut wrenching to actually take your beloved in to put him to sleep.. This way, he went quietly, peacefully, in his sleep, at home, in a loving envionment where he felt comfortable. You can't ask for a better gift then that...

So.... here I am, sitting with you, a box of tissues here for you. I know how you feel.... we lost our Beloved Barkeley 12/13/04... and we were devastated.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Hi,
I lost my 16 year old cat a year ago. I was devastated too. I also had to make a choice to put her to sleep. I never got over having to make that choice, although I know it was the right one. I hope you feel better!

Sorry to hear about that. I have a golden retriever who is 7 years old and am dreading the day that she passes away. Family pets are like part of the family and it is very said to lose your pet.

I'm sorry. I had a cat that had been in my life for over 10 years. When he died of old age, I was devastated as well. I know how you feel...

I'm so sorry. I know how it's like to lose a pet. in fact, it's more than a pet, it's a friend, a part of your family
all I can say is... the pain will go away in time

I offer you my condolenses and my deepest sympathies. It's never easy when you loose a pet, as a couple of years ago our family had to put down our cats. They're still sorely missed to this day.

And right before christmas...Well I am sorry, but you know that mouse will be stirring on christmas eve...
Give yourself time to heal, then get a new little kitten when you are ready for a new love in your life.
