Spend some time with them. Just be honest with them. Children understand allot more then you think.

I am so sorry to hear about your troubling circumstances. Without knowing your family this would be difficult to answer. I would advise you to try and purchase anything possible used, from newspaper ads or craigslist and such to maximize the effect of what you do spend. As I say I am not sure how you would approach it without knowing your family, more importantly your children. You may consider telling them the truth about Santa? You could tell them that there are more children this year than in past years so Santa may not be able to deliver as much to each house? I really do not know. I do know I will pray for your family and that you all have the best possible Christmas. Good luck and be Blessed.

just get them what you can and leave a note "from santa" saying he ran out of toys and is very sorry but when he gets back to the North pole he'll have the elves make more and bring them at a later time thats what my mom did one year and we got winter toys on christmas and summer toys in May from "santa"
or you could be straight with the kids and tell them there is no santa but its alittle to close to christmas for that if you ask me

wow. that is so sad, and i am so sorry. your kids are going to be pretty sad. but you should probably focous more on the family aspect of chrsitmas rather than the gifts. my parents went through the same thing and use to type up letters from santa and leave it by the eaten milk and cookies. let them know that they have been really good this year, but there was a problem at the north pole or something. use your imagination. good luck.

Well that's the reality of fooling and tricking children in believing in a Santa Clause. Just tell the truth. Perhaps you can go to the flee market and buy items on Sale.

You can tell them that Christmas is going to come late this year. I suggest the honest approach. You would be surprised at the things children understand. Maybe you should pawn something if you're really in need. You can suggest that you all make your own gifts.

have you ever tried chatting with the interior sight branch of human centers or interior sight church homes? i do no longer understand approximately the place you're, yet in my small city the Church on the Rock is stable approximately helping out human beings in tight circumstances, whether they are not church memebers. They love the folk interior the community and opt to help. the dep. of human centers would ask for evidence approximately your financial subject. - Hurry however while you're gonna pass to them. i think of their time shrink is early December if no longer previous due November. until you're a solid sales guy or woman or something, i do no longer understand the place you may get the certainly funds. yet delivers do no longer ought to be high priced. How old are your females? At any age, looking activities to do jointly as a relatives can create cherrished techniques. The final couple of years, I hit the 88 cent rack at Walmart for my lady's delivers. and he or she appeared to get exhilaration from the cheap issues I have been given her as much as (and in lots of circumstances greater advantageous than) the costlier delivers from different kin. they have all styles of issues... i do no longer recommend the dolls (such as barbie, yet plenty greater value-effective) They smash too extremely. however the small animals have given my daughters hours of entertainment! you may additionally spend Christmas Eve making user-friendly crafts... Do you have paper, scissors, crayons ... ? do you recognize a thank you to make paper snowflakes or something? I even have in no way been to manhattan. what form of exciting issues do they ought to do for unfastened? final night the small Texas city that I stay in had their park lighting fixtures. there have been unfastened hotdogs, cookies, and beverages and music and Santa. suitable previously that substitute right into a parade. It substitute into exciting! And besides the very undeniable fact that stuff like that may not ensue on Christmas Day, it remains a factor of Christmas. I choose you success looking money. yet undergo in techniques that the financial ingredient of Christmas is by using no potential the main necessary area. the numerous subject is to get exhilaration from spending time with your loved ones. i are conscious of it is going to likely be distinctive this year. yet you will make it particular. it may be much less difficult to think of of recommendations if I knew how old your daughters are. possibly in case you sense undesirable approximately giving them much cheap presents, you need to furnish them each and every a possibility to choose for an pastime to absorb 2 or 3 hours of the day?

This is crap. You don't need to get your kids 100's of dollars in gifts. Your telling me that you both work a full time job and you can't afford a $10 dollar gift for each. There are always ways to move a little bit of money around. If your spending every penny you earn, then your living above your means. Stop having kids and start saving. Also, most people who work full time get an extra paycheck in December and it's not like you didn't know Christmas was coming. You had all year to save a little cash.
