The imaging used by the MRI to detect brain tumors is state of the art stuff. The detail that is visible is amazing. I had a brain tumor (Olegodendroglioma) removed and just had a follow up appointment last week. I always ask for a copy of my latest scan. I figure it is good to have just in case I have to switch doctors or something. Besides It's cool to show to people. You can see the hole where the tumors was. I would suggest you ask your Radiologist or whomever did the scan for a copy of it. They can usually provide it on CD. Then take it and get the second opinion. Find a Dr that will sit down with you for a few minutes and explain what you are looking at on the MRI.

I cannot see how a tumor could be missed with such powerful technology, you could try getting in touch with the hospital or your gp and ask them to explain everything to you just to put your mind at rest, my partner went through the same thing he was convinced he had a brain tumor even though he had no symptoms of one then he convinced himself he had heart problems now the doctors are running tests on his throat I know they will find nothing but hes convinced they will this is because hes suffering moderate depression but he wont hear of it but I can see it could it be that your feeling a bit depressed too?

hi Vanessa, i could strongly advise which you get an MRI performed, oftentimes they'll inject you with a "dye" like substance which reinforces the MRI image. I had 3 3mm tumors picked up in my pituitary gland this way - so that's amazingly precise. Cheers Q&A

Always listen to that "little voice".
BUT...
MRI's are pretty accurate. I've never heard of them missing a tumor. I hope that gives you some comfort.
