Nothing like fast cars!

I sure like Gregnir's answer, but at least it is not more Nascar, Choppers, or lifestyle shows about them. I actually e-mailed them to tell them I enjoyed the "All-Out" show.

I think Charles Hendrickson and Nate Pritchett are more intelligent than most in the group, ..obviously.

Are they fixed? I doubt it. Are they often between two meaningless forgettable cars, with what seems to be a lot of put on drama petulance, and tension? Sure .

Does this happen in actual street racing? You bet your *** it does!! Now, to the name-yes it is lame-as few ever really street race for the other's car. In N. Dallas in the 80s the most $ I know of bet was about $5000( well, we all had side bets too)-but the verbal (often led to physical) confrontation gets really intense.

Still, the "PINKS" name reminds me of what we called the "candy ***" in N Dallas in the 80s.....lot of BS-little or no fundamental understanding of cars at all-often the misinformed were more dangerous than the uninformed.

However, it is not Dale Jr remodeling his patio or taking a crap-and it is not another show where we pretend that someone builds a chopper in 2hrs or equivalent hyperbole........so it at least shows some quick street/drag cars-perhaps to some viewers who may otherwise not be exposed to them, so it is ultimately a winner.

I love that show. It has great racing action and tons of drama. I liked the Pinks All Out special a lot more because it had more of a focus on bringing out the fastest of the fast cars instead of just whatever car someone doesn't mind losing.

Also, since Gregnir and others don't know what the show title means:
the term "racing for pinks" is an old term dating back to the 1940's and 50's and means the winner takes the other racer's car. The "pink" or "pink slip" is the owner's copy of the title for a car in California. Back in the 40's or 50's it was a pink carbon copy and whoever held the form owned the car.

The only thing worse than that show is the name, Pinks. Someone with a poor imagination came up with that one.
The show is a lot of hype about nothing and not everything is as it seems, although I think they've `fixed' a few things this season.
Much of the competition isn't between a couple of guys who have modified those cars, rather it's between garages who actually own the cars. When it was between private owners, the car was often returned to the loser after a few hundred dollars was exchanged.
I have to admit I've never watched more than about 10 minutes of it; it's a really bad program..

Yes, I do like the show. I dont always think that the cars are evenly matched. And sometimes the teams are made of of some real *******, but that is the way life is. I agree with one of the other answers that there is alot of sandbagging going on. I also dont like the way the host trys to manipulate sometimes for the sake of show drama. Let-em run them streetwise.

No, but I don't like 'reality shows'. If I want real life, I go out there and do it myself. If they want to race, fine. Let 'em race and I'll watch, but the rest is just fluff.

It would be better if they could get rid of the "sandbagging." That is the part of the show that ruins it for me.

Show needs to be called 'STINKS', because it really does. The producers are trying to create 'drama' that just isn't there.
