It will be set in French but not underline any mistakes, not even if you type gobbledegook - everything will seem correct. At work, Word will make sure it corrects things like adjective agreements etc. but at home it doesn't! Do I need to install something or change settings?

You can add a new dictionary, go to Tools then Options and click on the Spelling & Grammar tab. You will see a Custom Dictionary button, click that and you can add or edit dictionaries.

No. in spite of the undeniable fact that, I often do no longer answer questions by using fact i purely won't be able to make certain what the guy is speaking approximately. once you combine undesirable grammar, incorrect spelling, and lacking punctuation, you purely get a hodgepodge of words that don't mean something.

It could be the way the spell checker is set-up as you can turn the lines off. Press F7 and then will spell check your work and also you can't miss any unlike the lines.

DON'T trust MS Word with grammar (even in English). Learn the rules and apply them yourself.
