jeggs.com or summitracing.com. I didn't know they were still putting the 390 in light trucks in '78, I thought the last year for it was '76.

Ford never made 390 in 78.
Only engines were 300, 302 351M, 400, 460

nope ford didnt make 390 in 78 but any fe block will work 352 360 390 wont find a new one but maybe a rebuilt some of the older c6s had interchanceable bell housings so maybe if your lucky you can find one that will work

Yep , the last year for an "FE" 390 was 1976 . Try your search using that year , it was probably a swap from and earlier model . if your sure its the origianal motor , do some research on a 460 0r 400M.

That's a very common engine and trans combo.
All were C-6 models w/ the FE style bolt pattern.
