sounds normal to me a tattoo has to scab up and heal. When the scab comes off your tattoo will remain.
But if you think it might be infected see your doctor. Sometimes the tattoo artist is not very professional and uses a dirty needle and then you may get an infection.

Does it have purple ink in the tattoo? Some people are sensitive to purple tattoo ink...especially more so if you have an allergy to SULFA drugs. I have been getting tattooed for years; and one of the tattoos I got had alot of purple in it and I experienced the same type of reaction and panicked!!! It did eventually go away and the tattoo is fine. Scared me though!!!

Go back to the tattoo artist it's normal for a tattoo to itch while it heals but I don't know anything about it being normal for little bumps to form...

My tatooes always itched when they were healing. I was told to rub polysporin on them, especially when they were itchy. Some people take longer to heal than others. The bumps are normal, your tatoo will look 'raised' for the next year or so, until your skin completely adjusts to the tatoo.

It itches because it is healing, but the bumps may be an allergic reaction to the ink. You need to get to a doctor.

My sister-in-law did that when she got her tattoo. She was allergic to the red ink. She had to get medicine from a doctor.
