I believe you are not able to hide the cable under your carpet, if not you should have already done so.
Have you consider running plastic trunking around your wall to hide the cable?
It good because it can be paint over whatever your wall color is.
And future cable can hide inside too.

Boy, you do have a problem. The only thing I can think of is to paint it the same color as your walls, it would help disguise it. If you own the house, you can have the cable taken around the outside of the house. The cable company may charge you a little for it, but it is worth the cost. When I first installed my computer, I had it put in a middle room of my house, then later had it moved into a different room. They ran the cable outside and just made a different outlet and I have brick walls. If your not on cable, you can still do it (probably cheaper) with regular cable for an antenna hookup.

Go to your local building supply store -- Home Depot or Lowes for example. Talk to the rep. there and tell them about your cables. They make a very nice mop/base board that is hollow and adheres to a metal track mounted on the wall. It's designed to cover those very cords. Very nice, tastefully done. Just take a tape measuer and measure out the number of feet of wall you're covering. If the rep. has half a brain, they'll be able to hook you right up. Installation is easy and can be done in a jiffy with a minimum of tools.

Paint it the same color as the carpet or the wall, which ever the cord runs closest to or cover it with rugs and furniture.
