Yeshua (Jesus) was not born in December. If we examine the Biblical feasts, we can determine that He was born sometime in September during the feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles).

Jesus was conceived six months after John the Baptist, From the 15th day of the 1st month, Nisan (John the Baptist), we go to the 15th day of the 7th month, Tishri (Christ). We find on that date the festival of Tabernacles. The 15th day of Tishri begins the third and last festival of the year to which all the men of Israel were to gather in Jerusalem for Temple services. (Lev 23:34)

In 274 A.D., Roman emperor Aurelian (214-275 A.D.) made the pagan cult Sol Invictus the official religion of Rome, building temples and establishing December 25 as the birthday of the Sun Some 60 years later, the Roman Catholic church officially declared December 25 to be Christ's’ birthday. The "Church" merely adopted the same date to compete.

Colliers Encyclopedia and Encyclopaedia Britannica plainly reveal that the source of the celebration of December 25 is the birthday of Mithra, the pagan sun god.

This is not a "popular" answer to this age old question, as indicated by the low approval rates, however, truth be told, the "truth" hardly ever is.

Bible period calender is different..."Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual holiday that marks the traditional birthdate of Jesus of Nazareth. Christmas combines the celebration of Jesus' birth with various other traditions and customs, many of which were influenced by ancient winter festivals such as Yule[1] and Saturnalia. Christmas traditions include the display of Nativity scenes and Christmas trees, the exchange of gifts and cards, and the arrival of Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Popular Christmas themes include the promotion of goodwill, giving, compassion, and quality family time.

Christmas Day falls on December 25. It is preceded by Christmas Eve on December 24, and in some countries is followed by Boxing Day on December 26. Some Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate Christmas on January 7, which corresponds to December 25 on the Julian calendar. December 25 as a birthdate for Jesus is merely traditional, and is not thought to be his actual date of birth."

No, Jesus wasn't born on December 25. December 25 was already a pagan festival commemorating the birth of various sun gods. They simply moved the celebration of Christ's birthday to the 25th to help make it an easier transition from paganism to Christianity.

The Bible, as I recall, doesn't say December 25th anywhere. Find me the passage.

The Bible says Joe and Mary went to Bethlehem for Census and Taxation. There is NO indication any such Census happened in December, but there was one in the spring.

Why would ANYONE want people to travel in the dead of winter in the DESERT.

Go look up the Temperature in Jerusalem right now and see if you'd be out in the fields with sheep at midnight tonight!

Constantine and his Bishops picked the date which incorporates Pagan and Jewish festivals, thus Christians still get to celbrate Solstice and Chunakah, plus they have their own personal day.

Have you also not noticed that JESUS DIES and GETS RESSURECTED between March and April, but is BORN on a specific day.

Now, that's a Miracle! It's also a Paradox.

Jesus died on a specific day and was ressurected on a specific day. It does not move.

Again, it sort of follows passover.

December 25th was an adaptation of a pagan holiday that the early christians 'borrowed' trying to make the conversion from paganism to christianity somehow easier. There is no vidence that this is actually jesus birthday. More likely than not he was born in the late summer or early fall. I suggest to start questioning many many more things about the bible. Why are many so foolish to believe the bible is some kind of history book? It isn't in any way, shape, or form.

no longer each and each of the gospels have been written by utilising Jews. Luke replaced right into a gentile. The early Christians weren't pagans who worshipped Jesus. The trinity replaced into no longer made up yet. there have been many fake messiahs, so the early Christians have been no diverse than the different gullible Jew who fell for the fake messiahs claims. Christians are frequently pagans now, so if a Jew believes Jesus he's likewise a pagan. Jesus has no longer something to do with Judaism, basically like Buddha has no longer something to do with Christianity. To have faith Jesus is the messiah is to reject G-d when you consider that G-d made it clean interior the Tanakh(previous testomony) who the messiah is and what he will do. Jesus did no longer something, infact he dousnt even come on the fringe of installation the define of the messiah. It even says interior the gospel that Jesus broke the sabbath, insulted his mom and enable a girl touch his legs. distinctly glaring he's no longer the messiah.

There are different opinions among the Christians about the Birth Day of Jesus. Gregorian Calendar that we use today itself was decreed by Pope Gregory XIII on 24 February 1582. At the time of the birth of Jesus various systems of Calendars were followed. Again there was no calendar noting done at the time of Birth of Jesus. All the dates were based on the astronomical calculations done centuries later. There is also a view that October 5th is the date of birth of Lord Jesus Christ. But the majority of Christians accept December 25th the birthday of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus' day of birth is not mentioned in the Bible. Astronomers believe the Star showed up around March 10, 4 BC. Christmas is merely a celebration of His Birth because way back when, they had no clue when it really was, so they picked a convenient day. As Pagans liked to celebrate the SUN's birth on Dec 25, the Christians thought they'd be clever and celebrate the SON's birth on the same day. Get it? sun/son... oh, well. Never mind.

The Bible never states the date or time He was born, so we don't really know. Some scholars believe it was really in the spring or summer. The Bible also does not tell us to celebrate His birth, though it does tell us to remember His death, burial and resurrection each first day of the week. I don't believe anyone can speak for Christ and say He approves of it, when there is no mention of it in the Bible. I celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts, but I do not celebrate it as Christ's birthday or as any holy day.
