The prophetic "third day" is mentioned in Hosea 6:2.
The "third day" is also the 7th day in John 1 & 2:1.

The Bible defines itself as "allegory" & "mystery".
One day [is] as a 1,000 years in 2Peter 3:8
But also noted is "and" 1,000 yrs [is] as one day.
So perhaps 1,000 yrs in Rev 20 [is] as 1 day in Acts 12.
For "Peter" is the only man called "Satan" in the Holy Bible;
But also told: when(not if) converted, then strengthen brethren.

Pope John-Paul II said (in 1999): "the l-o-n-g tradition of sacrifice must continue in the third millennium". Could popish J-P II have been wrong on both counts? ...If the "third day" isn't another millennium & God will have mercy, and not sacrifice (Ps 40:6; 51:16; Hos 6:6; Mt 9:13; 12:7; Heb 10).

Not to try and knock the pope or the Catholic church or anything like that, but the Catholic church has made some pretty off calls in the past... I mean look at what they did with the Sabbath, what gave them authority to change Gods commandments is beyond me, so I would do a little research in the church's history and past and pray alot to see if God reveals the truth to you.

First of all, anything that comes out of the Catholic church is suspect. They have a really screwy eschatological view. By their accounts we should already be in heaven.

Now -the third day. Yes, we could be there. This is 2006. Jesus left in 33. So 33-1000 -the first day. Then 1000-2000 the second day, and 2000-forward would be the third day. Only problem-our dates can be off by as much as 6 years. So, this may actually be the year 2000, and not 2006. Even so-we will be in day 3 by the next year (2 more weeks). If all that is correct-then Jesus must come before January 1, 3000. In other words-this still has about 1000 years it can take to play out. Then we still have a mystery. That is Jesus can take His time. If the "third day" theory is correct, then Jesus can come any time in the next 1000 years.

The "seventh day". Same problem. We could very well be in or about the seventh day from creation. My calculations from Genesis and history add up to 6118 years since creation. I am not alone in this theory. Many thousands of Bible students (very educated ones) believe it has been about 6000 years since creation +/- about 300 (about!) years. This would put us near, or just in the seventh day. This year in the Jewish calender is 5768, I believe. This is not a coincidence.
I believe we are close.

I depends on who you are talking about...

Hosea 6:2 is talking about the jews... who would be punished.....chapter 5 ......then dead for 2000 years then revived (physically).....and then raised up (saved spiritually) again when messiah comes back to rule....

i do not see a 7th day in john 1 or 2:1....I see some activities like baptism which woudl never have occured on the 7th day because it was shabat....2:1 indicates a marriage feast on the third day....which was literally a Tuesday.... but could symbolize the marriage supper of the lamb....

Hosea is talking about the revivial of Israel, after being banished from Israel for 2000 years.... John is discussing the ministry of Jesus....

Peter was called satan because he was trying to hinder Jesus from his redemptive hour with death

You're looking for boogers that do not exist. Where does the Bible define itself as allegory? It does not.

You get so caught up in the boogers you miss the message. God never intended for you to figure out His calendar and He's never let us in on it! . . . on purpose!!!
