Well at 15 just get him what he suggested! Listening to what he said and going along with it is a great way to say "I love you.". Get a very nice card to go along with your gift and write something very special to him in it. I'm sure he will be pleased, although at 15 guys aren't very "sensitive" or in-tune with stuff like that ... his head is likely on paint balling and that new X-Box. But you did your best. A nice picture of you with the T-Shirt might be a nice idea as well.

This is not the place to ask such a question. You need to think about what he likes and what would mean something to him. You need to look at the things he has and what he does with important things.
Maybe his keychain is important to him and you could get him a keychain with ingraving on it. Maybe he likes a particular sports personality and you can get him something related to that person. It really depends on him.
You do not go by what he says, but by his actions.
