Your numbers are really off the wall. Israel recieves about 2.5 billion a year from the US in aid.
Yes--we should support the only democracy in the middle east just as we do Europe (even though they dont like us).
We also send a good deal of aid to the Palestinians of which never seems to get to the people.
In short--the US gives out more in aid around the world than any other country and yet--they hate us.
Israel is a friend to the US and our support is essentual but perhaps we should turn off the spiget to those countrys that dont like us so much.
Europes defense budgets are very small and the people seem to think its because they dont need it when in fact it is the US that is responsible for their defense should anything major happen.

Is that what they need the money for? Please be educated! Israel is getting support to throw the Palestinians from their land! Israel is getting support to weaken the Middle East! Israel is just stealing land as they have planned for so many years... land and oil. And killing so many innocents. It's called ETHNIC CLEANSING.
Also, the US needs the money! There is so much poverty in the US! The US could use the money for free health care like in Europe. And so many other improvements are needed in the US that are wasted for killing! Killing and stealing land! Destroying a people called the PALESTINIANS!!! Thank you mlaheji. I look at it this way. If Israel did not get this money to beef up their conventional military, their neighbors may decide to attack them and they may be forced to play their nuclear card.
Nuclear war in the middle east would seriously disrupt the world's oil supply and could trigger a global financial collapse.
Also US companies have major financial interests in Israel. 12 billion dollar chip making facilities etc... If Israel were to be destroyed many US companies would be seriously affected.
Not to mention that Irael represents the only example of a successful democracy in the part of the world.

Because in looking at the actual foreign aid expenditure report from 2005 the number is not nearly that high.
The amount of money and equipment given to Israel pales in comparison to other countries how have far less to offer us in terms of trade and security.

no. I think that the money being donated to Israel makes them try less. Freebies aren't good, they spoil.
They are not allowed to make some of the weapons they used to make.
They also depend on the US opinion regarding pretty much everything, and it isn't good for them.
I say: No more money to Israel. That money is bad for Israel itself.

Israel is a democracy, a friend of the USA, and a country willing to stand up to terrorism, and willing to hlp US do our military work in the region.
They're a primary source of Intelligence in the region, Lots of Israeli citizens are either FROM the USA or have family here, and we share a common religious heritage.
We failed to prevent the Nazis from tryng to exsterminate them, and we vowed such an atrocity would never happen again.
You prefer the Arab dictators or the Mullahs who instruct their followers to strap on bombs and blow up buses and pizza parlors full of children?
