Southwest Airlines services the Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach airports.
Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport is 25 miles north of Miami International, so it's actually a pretty reasonable option. It's a bit smaller than the Miami airport, so you can get in and out of the airport much more quickly and painlessly, and then it's just half an hour of highway driving until you're in the heart of Miami. Palm Beach International Airport is 49 miles north of Miami International, so it's a bit further away, but still an option.

Worst airports: Washington - Dulles, Miami, LAX Worst airline: by far, United Airlines. Southwest is pretty bad too. American Airlines is pretty decent and Continental and Northwest are both great.
