this guy has been in contact with me for over a year. even when i was in my past serious relationship.
we have only kissed eachother.
he always texts me when hes out in town and i do the same. nothing is planned. if we are not out we always say so.
i was out in town this weekend and i text him to see if he was out. he didnt reply. this has happened before.
once we have met up, i dont hear from him for a while and he ignores my texts. i then dont text him anymore and he comes back texting me again as normal.
what does this mean???
he is 29 and single.

He likes having you around, but at a distance. The best thing that you can do is to forget about texting him at all. He is not interested in a relationship, he just likes having a standby.

Ask him. Why play the guessing game? Just ask him, "Didn't you get my text the other day? I didn't hear from you, so I was just wondering?" Maybe his phone was off, or someone else had it and ignored the text. Who knows until you ask. But I do have to say that it seems like you are interested in being more than friends. Why else would you stress over this? If you are, you should do something about it before he is no longer single. Good luck and God bless!

it means while hes ignoring u he probably has a gf then he dumps her and goes back to texting u if he texts u again dont even bother replying hes a loser give up on him

Sounds like he's interested, but only when it's convenient. Be careful, he may be a player, and very, very busy. If you're looking for a serious relationship, forget him. If you only want something casual, he sounds perfect!

Perhaps he got busy with work? Guys tend to be single task oriented, so if he got busy with work or travelling, he may not have realized so much time elapsed.
