it is very very possible for you to quit.... easily. i have a friend who used her new boyfriend as motivation and quit cold turkey. just decided not to pick it up anymore, even though she has kept her "friends" around that still smoke. it is ALL ABOUT YOU, and how much you want to quit, and your motivation for quitting.
if you are religous, maybe you could challenge yourself to quit for lent which is coming right up. thats 40 days that you won't smoke and it will be well out of your system. or just challenge yourself to quit for a year. you don't have to make it a lifelong decision, like you can NEVER do it again, but you can break the habit at least.
if you want to save money, put your smoke money into a locked christmas club when you get it so that you can't touch it until october of next year (your bank or financial institution should have a christmas club).
whatever your motivation for quitting is, you just need to make it a priority over the smoking.
you can do it. no worries.

I smoked heavily through my teenage years up to about 24. It actually felt as if I stopped gradually but what it really was I became actively involved with other meaningful things like my career and took up a hobby like running.
I am 31 and lasted smoked 2 weeks ago , all in all that is about 15 times the most in the last 10 years. Basically don't go cold turkey gradually cut down ur intake and substitue your time. For starters smoke less in the week or none at all. Minimise your interaction with other smokers and get rid of all the smoking tools. Keep this challenge to yourself because as soon as u fail a small hurdle people will take u to the cleaners.Give yourself a realistic goal date. Most of all don't feel self pity for yourself millions go through this. Good Luck !

One of my favorite fees: "Giving up smoking is the simplest factor on the planet. I understand when you consider that I've performed it enormous quantities of occasions." - Mark Twain I've attempted to give up a number of occasions, the longest was once for 3 months. I wager my middle is not quite in it. I understand it's a dull, awful drug that's deadly in 100 special methods, however some thing which non-people who smoke will by no means recognize is simply how satisfying, and comforting smoking truthfully can also be. And I wager the sorrowful truth is, individuals like what is unhealthy for them. I you are seeking to give up then I desire you good fortune, my best recommendation is to by no means have a different cigarette ever once more. If you are a major smoker it will best take one... after which you'll be able to desire to smoke the relaxation of the percent.

I disagree about not quitting cold turkey. I think quitting almost anything is better if you just totally quit because then you gain strength looking back at the time you've abstained.
I didn't smoke for a couple of years and then decided I was going to, but I really didn't want to because I didn't want to mess up my record.
If you're serious about quitting, do it and don't look back.

Go to rehabilitaion class's. Then it will help. Firstly admiting you have a proplem is the first step to enlightement. Keep it up. Secoundly if you just stop takeing it your body will go though health proplems so the rehabilitaion calss will help this. Thirdly take up other activitys like foot ball and that. Keep your mind on other things. Rehabilitaion is the best step tho as they will give you ideas on more effective methods. These ones i have said will only help short term.

Rehab. You'll never stop if you don't get help. The mental addiction is what is keeping you from being clean. You stop for a while and think you can just have a few hits from time to time and then you are right back at it daily. If you can't go to rehab, then go to Narcotics Anonymous:

you can cut yourself off from the supply. only thing that worked for me was living in another country where i couldn't get any. i started again as soon as i got back though. try baby steps, just don't smoke right now, see how long you can hold out. try to go longer and longer. good luck
also keep busy and do lots of fun stuff.
