of God? I can't believe how many people in the U.S. are so ungodly. When I was growing up there were alot of heathens but most of them believed there was a God or at least had reverence for others. It seems there are so many scoffers and people who have no knowledge of what's going on in the world and what's going to happen.

Thats a good question. I guess it would be because they choose not to believe but in the end they will come to face the truth and wish that they had believed.

Our country has a very religious population, very high crime rates, high teenage pregnancy rates, and high rates of people that reject evolution, in comparison with similar European democracies.

We are backwards when compared to these more secular European democracies, and it seems as though our lack of a secular government may be to blame. After all, when half of the U.S. population believes Jesus is coming back within their lifetimes, who gives a damn about the suffering of others, the environment, protecting innocents?

I am an atheist because theism is illogical and harmful to society as a whole. I did not chose to "deny god", but rather realized what can only be considered truth, that nothing about the existence of a higher power makes sense, and that being religious does not make one a better person. I chose truth, what of you?

A god requires faith
You must accept a statement or a tenet regardless of how absurd it may be,
Where I went to school the universe was stated as 6000 years old, even though the existence of the dinosaurs 250,000,000 years
ago is well documented.
A god of one type or another exists for most of the people on earth.
Remember a fraction of one percent of 6,000,000,000 is still a large number.
I don't think you should really worry about it.

Truly educated people realize how little they really know...it is the partially educated that need to jump on the bandwagon either way on here and have it out in a fight....the truly education seekers realize that the answers are not totally there and that without all the answers making a stance is not where they should be yet.

An educated person does not need to use put downs and offensive language to get their point across....the use of those at least in appearance makes them look uneducated to the educated and what they have to say less important.....just keep that in mind.....if you were in a job interview would you use the language and tones used on here....that is the one place people do try to sell what they believe in...themselves....

The 'friend ' of religion is uneducated, superstitstious, and uninformed people. It seems the more a country, or the world in general, becomes educated the fewer and fewer 'blind believers' the religious indoctrinators have to choose their victims from.

Talk about turning reason on its head. Disbelief is the logical default given the lack of evidence for God-I wonder how educated people can be so misguided as to believe that a God exists.

Taking bibles out of the school system in 1969 has affected the general knowledge of the following generations. There is a spiritual hunger now though and this young generation are actually swinging the other way and questioning their parents lifestyles. There are a couple lost generations wondering blindly in between but I think long term it is better to let school be school and let the public search for what they want themselves. Google is the great equaliser and you will find that statistically Christianity is growing faster than ever on a global basis. TV is painting a distorted picture through censorship but in reality there are more kids in church because they want to be than ever.

Because in a country that is like ours we have the right to chose how we worship or not to worship at all. It is called Freedom. And considering I spent 6 years defending it I wouldn't want anyone trying to take it away from another and I definitely wouldn't allow anyone to tell me how or to whom to worship.

Bright Blessings )O(

Yeah... I can't believe all those heathens don't believe in the imaginary sky fairy who poofed the world into existence with his finger! Gosh, they are so DUMB!
And seriously, if I see one more person saying that Atheists are "blinded by Satan" I'm going to scream.
Guess what, YOU are WRONG. I know, shocking, but you are. Shut up and get on with your life.
