Hi there........
The best way to stay relax on the plane is by listening to your favorite music, by IPOD, or any MP3 player. You may also play a handheld gaming gadget to relieve your mind.
Have a nice flight then !!!

Well, flying is still a whole lot safer than driving. But, if you don't mind drinking you can always order a glass of wine or something. If that doesn't work there are a lot of sleep aids out there that may help. A good idea may be to stay up late the night before so you will be tired and sleep on the plane. My sister is crazy scared of flying and she says that works for her.

just to reasure you, here are a few facts
a planes flight system is so sensitive it can compensate for slight changes in the centre of gravity,so if a few people get up to go to toilet that is fine, however if there is a mass bundle on the plane it could bring the plane down
if a tyre bursts during take off it can cause the plane to pull to one side.the pilot will either abandon take off and risk over shooting the runway or worry about it on landing.usually they go with the latter
young men are most likely to survive a crash, however 12% of these will die from shock
the language of the skies is english however the french ignore this and give vital info in their own tongue
good luck

I'm scared too. My way is pretending I'm in the passenger seat of a car. If you close your eyes whilst in the car you will experience the same type of movement as if in a plane. When you go over a bump, it feels just like that with an air pocket. So do that. Imagine you're sitting in the car.

yes i agree with most people out here i was afraid to fly to but i had to and yes i was nervous best way is to have a few drinks to relax you but don't do it until you are abored the plane and the drinks can be a little pricey but its worth it if it helps you to relax but some airlines have a min on drinks so i think its 4 and then they cut you off good luck and relax

Some people like a drink on a plane but it's horrible being drunk on a plane. I love flying, but if I was nervous I guess I'd take an aisle seat so I don't have to look at the earth 30,000 feet below or the wing wobbling about. Try and keep your mind distracted... read a book, watch TV, sleep.

Listen to music on an mp3 player, take a long novel to read, check out the in-flight movies.
If you still think you'll be really nervous though, try taking a herbal supplement like Kalms or something similar half an hour before you take off.
Hope it goes ok for you and enjoy your holiday!!!

I also had that for a long time! But now I fly 10 times a year because I study abroad and I got used to it! Now it is like a bus ride!
But before getting used to it I used to do the following things:
I ordered a nice, warm cup of tea (never drink alcohol, it will make you feel sick), I put my favourite music (something cheerful), I took a pillow with me to sleep and relax, and declined my chair to lie down, and of course I thought of something very good that has happened to me in order to make me feel right! They usually provide magazines too in order to occupy yourself!
But if those things still won`t help, it is good to pray and control your breath!

Try not to imagine the engines bursting into flames, and then backup oxygen supply failing. The chances of you experiencing the flimsy metal breaking apart due a mid-air collision because of pilot negligence (or the million other things that could go wrong) isn't that high.
So just don't think about just how fast you are travelling and the terrible consequences it could have and you should be fine.
Oh and make sure you tell your family you love them before your flight.
