I was cooking for christmas treats and piece dropped and she liked it, we aren't planning on changing her food over to it just wondering is an occassional treat will hurt.

No.. not if you give a small amount... I think that in this case.. the case of peanut brittle in comparison with that of chocolate, peanut brittle would be more harmful for the dog's teeth than anything else.

Another consideration is that some dogs have a great deal of difficulty digesting peanuts, just as do humans. But with a smaller dog this can be even more serious. Best idea is to avoid this type of thing for most dogs.

Peanut butter is actually an item that is on the list of 'Human Food That Dog's CAN Eat and Enjoy'. Peanut butter is usually a major ingredient in most dog treats, for flavor mainly. Your Golden Retriver would probably love for you to shove some of that yummy peanut butter into her treat 'tube'! :)

Why in the world would you give your dog peanut brittle anyways? Do you dress your dog up in holiday sweaters too? Maybe you should just give the dog proper DOG food like Alpo or Purina.

A little bit isn't bad, but sugar really isn't great for dogs. Stick with healthy snacks instead.
