I'm not sure but I think it has been proven that dogs do dream. There hads been speculation that dogs muscle movements were not related to dreams.
It seems fairly easy to say, yes they do dream, because aside from the"running" action and moving their legs about that most of us have seen dogs do while sleeping they also will attempt to bark or howl, and I've seen dogs ejaculate too while sleeping. So, I'm thinking that dreams must be about the same to dogs as they are to people.

They do for sure! My dog especially. Sometimes at night, she'll start growling, and then she'll start whining, then she makes a sound like a hiccup and a bark mixed together and also with a whine in there somewhere, and it's so WEIRD! And she moves, and kicks her legs, and sometimes she wakes up and comes licks me and she's whining, and this morning, usually, if i pet her while shes sleeping, she growls, even when she wakes up, she's in a bad mood in the morning. But today, after she woke up, i pet her and she didn't whine at all!! I think she had a bad dream about something happening to me...maybe.

My dog dreams all of the time. He will start to jerk, and at first, I thought he was having a seiser, but he was only dreaming.

Yeah, i think dogs have dreams. It is possible. If you observe a dog while its sleeping, you'll notice that after some time their eyes will start to move, like REM (rapid eye movement) in humans and then their feet will also move and their body will quiver. Sometimes, my dog will make movements that he seems to be running... Also notice that at this stage, it is difficult to wake them up (if you tried)...

Supposedly it's been proven that dogs don't dream. Atleast according to my college psych book. I don't remember what they said the twitching was, but they aren't dreaming. I still like to think that they do dream though, it makes that twitching so much cuter!

Yes, dreams. No dogs in my dreams. I have strange dreams about parties with people I have not seen in years. They are funny dreams.

it is possible that dogs might have dreams but there is no way to be sure about this since we aren't dogs, therefore, we can't study them.
