It may be the way he's holding her, it may be the fact that she would simply prefer that you do it. If she used to be fine with it, she may just be getting old enough to express her opinion about it. My daughter was the same way and reacted the same way with my husband (her father). He hated it but she simply went through a phase where she prefered me. She grew out of it. I'm sure your baby will too.

He could be unsure of himself. Babies are tuned in to these type of emotions. When my first Grandchild was born and he was at our house for the weekend and my son would pace the floors with my grandson the baby would just cry and cry. I got up and would take the baby and he would stop crying. My son asked me how did I do that and I told him the answer was simple the baby could sense his stress and that Daddy needed to calm down. After that my son who married the Mommy had three more babies and he was the one and not the Mommy who would get up with the baby. Another son then 2 little girls.

I totally agree with the Nervousness. The first time she probabally cried might not have had anything to do with him being nervous but now since she's cried he's nervous and babies pick up on those things.
My Brother in Law (19) and Sister In Law (21) are both nervous holding my 15 month old and she still senses it!

you isn't waiting to ruin a newborn, yet now no longer conserving him can make bonding and attachment more beneficial sturdy. A newborn does no longer have the psychological skill to administration. All a newborn can do is technique its instantaneous needs. If he's crying that is merely by technique of truth he needs some thing like a diaper substitute, foodstuff, or cuddle time. that is difficult on the start, no matter if it does get more beneficial constructive.

Is he nervous when he holds her? Does she know him well? You said shes only recently started....did she like him before now all the sudden cries? She could also be more attached to you, and going through one of them stages where she wants mommy.

Is he tense when he holds her?? Sometimes when people arent happy with what the are doing or dont feel comfortable with it the child will sense it causing them to cry.
Im not saying this is the problem, i just wondered if it may be a possibility?

My daughter used to scream the house down when my sister and her dad held her. As she got older he was the one who she wanted to walk the floorboards holding her to go to sleep. It's swings and roundabouts and depending on your baby's age it could all be to do with the familiarity of mum.

Maybe ur daughter isn't very familiar with ur boyfriend yet!
It takes time.
Or maybe the baby is shy, and scared!
She maybe recognised him b coz he isn't her father
