Firstly, it isn't like you are playing loud music at 5:30 am.I mean, how loud can a vacuum be? You're building must have thin walls.
But I know there are certain tenant/landlord bi-laws that say early morning noise can start at 7 am and then late night noise should cease at 11pm. Generally though, you shouldn't do anything that disrupts others 'enjoyment of their unit'.
I hate to say this but maybe you should leave the vacuuming to when you get home - I know you're tired but considering the bi-law, it would be best to be safe than sorry.
About your relationship with your neighbor. It sounds to me like you two just clash. And that happens sometimes, unfortunately. Be the bigger person and try to get along with her because arguing will just aggravate things for you, and I don't think you need that right now. It really is stressful having a feud with your neighbor because this is your home and your home should be stress free and relaxing. Good luck.

Hi, Stephanie, I would like to tell you what you want to hear but I an convinced that it would not solve the problem, instead I have to say that whenever there is a dispute the best solution is compromise and there is no loss of face in this.
I know you work hard and are tired when you get home but really isn`t the effort worth the peace between you and your neighbor?
If it was me I would do the vacuuming at evening time and you will soon get into the habit of doing this and it will not be so much of a chore.

When living in apartments, we all have to make a few sacrifices to get along better in such close quarters with our neighbors. I think 5:30 is rather early to be cleaning, perhaps you could rearrange your chores and your other duties, so that you maybe spend a little more time relaxing in the morning and you vaccuum in the evenings when you return from work. Or, enjoy the time to sleep in a little more, if you can, and then you'll have more energy to do these tasks in the evening.

I have been told that, vacuuming the floors or any kind of work which can be heard clearly through the wall before 6am, in most Western countries, is a no-no. It depends on your local laws on disturbing the peace or noise pollution. It should probably be done on the weekends or after 6am if possible. You'll have to check with the police or the local authority (city hall) to see what the rules are.

I'm assuming you live in an apartment, and I do think that it's rude for you to be vaccuming at 5:30am. I wouldn't start any activities that make a lot of noise before 8am, just like you shoud stop loud activities after 11pm. It's just common courtesy.

i side with your neighbor. although you are an early riser, that does not give you the right to impose your noise on anyone else so they, too, are forcd to be awakened too early. vacuum when you come home or wait until your day(s) off. you sholdn't alienate your neighbors. it's always best to aim for harmony when livin in an apartment complex, with other tenants to be concerned about.

If it bothers her, can you vacuum right before bed? I know we all have schedules but sometimes a little adjusting can go a long way in getting along. Now if she gets too picky, call her out on it. Good luck!
