I broke up with my ex boyfriend just over a month ago. Im totally over him and happy to get on with my life. My friend set me up with her boyfriends mate and we really hit it off. We been on 3 dates in the past week and decided we would give it ago. My friend has said he wants to buy me a christmas present but i think it too soon to be doing it. She said it more of a gesture she thinks and told him a bear and chocs would be nice to get me. What do i get him? and is it moving to fast even though i have no feelings for my ex and really like this guy?

It's not moving too fast unless u get him a really $$$ gift, but if you keep it simple, a nice card with the teddy bear & box of chocolates, it won't send signals that the relationship is getting seriouse, but it will surely say you're a sweet person.
Just keep it basic & simple.

If you have no feelings for your ex, why did you even bring him up in the first place? Getting a gift for a new boyfriend has nothing to do with your ex. I don't see the connection. Is there something more there?

The thing is if you're not comfortable with getting him something I think you shouldn't, but that would be awkward to receive a gift and have nothing for him. So just get him a $5 gift card or something small so it's not saying more than you feel comfortable with saying right now.

How I manage things like this is just by not overly spending on the person. Each Christmas I only spend £10 per person, and so if you spend the same amount of money on him as everyone else then he wouldn't think you're being "zomgosh, i love you" more that you think of them as a friend.

Well, certainly you could get him something small as a token of your budding relationship. Just keep it relatively inexpensive and not excessively personal. Perhaps a CD or a gift certificate to a local restaurant (that he can share with you!)

just get him something small as a gesture. it'll be nice for the both of you. why not a bottle of wine or some other drink he likes. doesn't have to be too expensive.
